So Yoon Lym created a series of acrylic on paper artworks featuring hair and braid patterns.
The artist says:
“I first became inspired by this series when I started teaching at John F. Kennedy High School in Paterson, NJ in September 2001 up until June 2010. I loved the many beautiful hair styles of both my male and female students as well as the many students who I would see in the hallways who were not necessarily students I knew.”

Possibly one of the greatest portraits I’ve seen in a long time. It captures the subject perfectly. With the dramatic lighting and scenery in context aimed to max-up  the grandiosity of the subject portrayed, this harkens back to old masters of the 18th and 19th centuries! I am quote serious. This is John Singer Sargent territory. Is this portrait by Annie Leibovitz?! I must know. Can anyone please help me find who the photographer is? Will appreciate it immensely, thanks!

It’s Mark Seliger for Italian Vogue for Men, December 2007.
